Head of Medusa: reloaded
In these works, the artist Nina Werzhbinskaja-Rabinowich deals with a new, personal perspective on the motifs of ancient Greek mythology. The images shed new light on stories such as Perseus and Medusa, Eurydice and Orpheus - in an attempt to renew or expand these stories with a feminist version. With regard to the theme of support, she dedicates her series of pictures to the motif of the Caryatids - the women of antiquity, who, in complete contrast to the ancient Greek, suffering Atlas and the Baroque Atlases, have always been depicted as supporting, carrying women. The picture cycle "Head of Medusa: reloaded" or "Perseus wasn't paying attention" once again show the basic theme of the series: a strong, female perspective and position of the artist.
